Gary V: Sings Tayong Dalawa Theme Song

Tayong Dalawa

Kapwa lumuluha kapwa nasasaktan.

Gary Valenciano has been tapped to sing the title theme of the upcoming teleserye Tayong Dalawa, which stars Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and Jake Cuenca. ABS-CBN.com spoke with Mr. Pure Energy last December 19 during the music video shoot for the theme song at the La Mesa Dam Ecopark. He talked about how the song, composed and originally sung by OPM icon Rey Valera, will play an important role in the teleserye. “I’m sure itong song na ‘Tayong Dalawa’ naging theme song din ng ilang tao diyan who will get to see the teleserye Tayong Dalawa. A theme song is not just supposed to sound good but it’s supposed to play a major role in complementing the effectiveness of the teleserye. In any movie may mga eksenang hindi kailangan ng theme, meron naman na kailangan. In Tayong Dalawa the song is exactly what the story is trying to say. When you put that together, when one equals the other, you come up with a great equation. I think that equation means success.”

This is Gary’s second time to sing the theme for a teleserye starring Kim, Gerald, and Jake, the first one being Sana Maulit Muli in 2007. The singer-composer further shared how excited he is to be a part of Tayong Dalawa which for him has all the elements of a top-rate series. “I’m aware of the storyline and I’m excited about how that’s going to turn out. Imagine in Sana Maulit Muli, Kim, Gerald, and Jake were still new actors yet they were very effective. What more now? They’re going to take on more mature roles so it’s very interesting to see. Sa trailer pa lang I’m excited na to see the teleserye. I believe in the project, in the actors, in the song. Those are the reasons I’m also looking forward to be singing ‘Tayong Dalawa’ soon sa mga shows at sa malls.”

In his 25 years in the music industry, Gary has been the favorite of many producers to perform a song for a movie or a teleserye. In fact, Tayong Dalawa marks Gary’s 18th time to record a theme song. ABS-CBN.com asked Gary on why he thinks he is the most requested singer when it comes to soundtracks. “I think that when I record kasi I don’t record just to sound good. It’s really about expressing myself and when you come across a song by Rey Valera like ‘Tayong Dalawa’ you can’t help but to express yourself in the way that the song was arranged. Also to do a song of Rey Valera is malaking karangalan para sa akin because songs by Rey will never ever die. I think even the kids of my kids will still get to hear his music and say, ‘Wow.’ I’ll be proud to say that I have been honored to be given the chance to sing one of his songs.”

Tayong Dalawa

The anticipation will soon be over as the most-awaited primetime series, Tayong Dalawa, sets off on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida on January 19.

Tayong Dalawa’s story revolves around two people (Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca) with one name, one dream and one love (Kim Chiu). The teleserye will touch on different life’s issues mainly: money, power, freedom, family, anger, forgiveness, secrets, revelations, and love.

The teasers and full trailer have made the audience yearn strongly for one of the biggest TV projects of the three hottest young stars of their generation, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca.

A cluster of respected and multi-awarded artists will breathe life to the vital characters of the series of Tayong Dalawa: Cherry Pie Picache (the whore with a tattered heart), Gina PareƱo (a renewed Magdalene), Helen Gamboa (the ambitious mother), Agot Isidro(the efficient secretary turned dutiful wife), Mylene Dizon (the martyr wife), Ricky Davao ( a powerful man with a weak heart), Alessandra de Rossi (a scorned friend), Jiro Manio (burned son), Coco Martin (the wolf in sheep’s clothing) and Baron Geisler (head of the mafia).

Under the direction of Ruel Bayani and Trina Dayrit, witness two people with the same name, faced with different realities love one woman as Tayong Dalawa embarks on the primetime airwaves on January 19.

Love Team

Gerald Anderson confessed Saturday that he has been courting onscreen love team partner Kim Chiu since 2007 and that he is willing to wait for her.

“I’m ready anytime… pero I’m not pressuring her, I’m just here to wait,” the Filipino-American young actor told “Entertainment Live” when asked about the status of their relationship.

Reports said both of them admitted to the “mutual understanding” stage in their relationship. Anderson was also quoted as saying that theirs was a kind of friendship with “selosan (jealousy) factor.”

Anderson also disclosed in previous interviews that he spent his Christmas with Chiu and her family.

“After Christmas, wala na [‘yong selosan], kasi we spent Christmas together so wala na po ‘yan,” he said.

On reports that Chiu denied the “MU” status, he said: “Actually, after that interview, she texted me na, ‘Uy, sorry ha.’ Pero nothing really bad or anything naman.”

The love team of Chiu and Anderson is making a comeback in television with the upcoming series “Tayong Dalawa.” It will start airing on January 19th on ABS-CBN.

Anderson said he and Chiu are praying that their latest television series will also become a bit hit this year. The two starred in several ABS-CBN shows, including the Filipino version of Korean series "My Girl."

My Best Friend's Christmas Message

A Letter For You

Kyle,

There is not a person quite like you, just let me explain, your stories keep me laughing, time and time again. You're also a good listener which is something very rare, if i'm miserable or boring as usual you'll be there. All in all it seems to me without you I would be lost. Your friendship is one thing i will keep at any cost.

I am happy that we are back to school and we see each other again. Be good to your family and merry Christmas.

God bless,

Mesoo

November

A new semester is going to start, what is instore for me? I have no plans for All Souls Day but i was guided to light a candle for the soul of my dearly beloved. I am numb no tears to shed anymore but my son said, i feel like crying to know that grandma and grandpa are already gone.He understand after all what is like to lose someone you love. I told him when mom will die somebody will love you more than i do, It's God and don't be sad when i i am gone because i will be with God.With God there is no hunger and pain.Is that what's heaven is like Mommy? Yes.I hope my son will keep that faith in his heart.

Christmas is still two months away but i decided to start wrapping gifts for abused children.I need not money to do that,my son has outgrown a lot of things.I know i am not doing this orphans a favor but thay are the one who will make a difference in my life. Making them happy can heal my broken heart, they will teach me to detach myself from material things and open my heart instead.

First Semester

Time flies so fast, it's been 5 months and a lot happen when the school year started.Increase school tuition and bus fees (nothing is new), work and work and work but then again money is not everything, you think you can have it all but in can be taken away from you in an instant. I was burned out for my son's birthday and it did not stop there, the annual theater play and halloween made me so drain as well, i made young souls happy but in one semester what did it do to me?

It's a responsibility to provide the needs of children, it is suppose to be cherishing precious moments shared with them but when you strive so hard to pay for their happiness while you are also struggling with relationships around you..doing sacrifices..getting hurt..letting go, i am not sure if i already lost myself or not.

I think God does not like me to forget what my heart should desire. When i feel like I lost everything,God embraces me in so many surprising ways, His spirit, a friend i once help but is now helping me and possibilities as well. Quiet times with my son and doing nothing is also a priceless experience, that is when you don't compete with time, you don't rush, you don't go after money.

It can be scary sometimes to think about tomorrow's challenges but semestral break ends and believe new hope begins.

Flowers

I first taught him to be grateful, so i ask him to give his teacher a flower during Teacher's Day. It only happens once a year, i never taught he will learn something extra ordinary from that experience. I know he is happy to see a woman smiling when receiving flowers. To his delight, he made it a habit to pick wild flowers for me every afternoon when he arrives from school and tell me if the sunset is cheerful today or mysterious.

When he ask me what's my favorite flower? I said, it's Roses. I was surprised, of all his ways to make me feel valued, everytime he draws a Rose for me. He look for photos of roses and share it with me. He reminds me to pause for awhile and watch a Rose in the garden and believe it is really beautiful. For hin to be happy is to find time to appreciate the gift of beauty and grace.

One day i thought things have change and outdoors are for boys who love to get dirty..period! No more no less. He started using the toy set that i bought for him, a pail and a shovel that was rarely use because we only go to the beach once a year. He said, i have a science project in mind. I thought it's just frog hunting.

I was amazed as he showed me his first flower arrangement. Pot,sand, twigs, wild flowers and leaves beautifully arrange just for me.

But he never stop, just recently he said: Mommy, i have a surprised for you, come here! he asked me to faced a mirror and closed my eyes. He tucked something in my ear and when he said: Mommy you are beautiful! When i opened my eyes, indeed, i look like a Hawaiin dancer, a big flower tucked in my ear.

Give and take equals pure joy shared. I don't know what lies ahead, for now, I thank God to have a son who exactly knows how to make a woman happy and loved.
